District - resimercial at its best.
Simple and modern with residential lounge-type comfort. That was essentially the brief. Clever design and boundary-pushing upholstery have given us District.
The lines between work and home have blurred irreversibly in the past decade. Even before a pandemic necessitated that we take our office home, the comforts of home, and warm and people-friendly elements of residential design were edging their way into our workplaces. Resimercial had been born.
We had a vision for a modular sofa that crossed those residential and commercial lines in the best possible way. One that incorporated the quiet compact simplicity of a commercial sofa but with the plush comfort and ease of a residential lounge. Designer Lucas Wotawa, along with the Eden team, developed District, which we think ticks those boxes perfectly.
District's luxurious upholstery offers the resilience and durability of commercial grade seating but the sink-in softness of your favourite evening lounger. This clever comfort is achieved by multi-layering varying grades of foam and overlaying them with a memory foam topper.
Lucas's eye for the edges gave District that beautiful square-meets-round shaping. Intricate seam finishing and a delicate spread of foam layering moves the crisp perimeter effortlessly into comfort curves.
District's modular system is simple with just three square units. Placed however they will, they present an orderly urban elegance. Designed for now, tradition and contemporary work-life philosophy blend in District.
