Pathway to Zero
Stylish, modern and 100% recycled!
Zero has a resilient textured finish and in three fresh modern colours. It's a durable as new material and recommended for users up to 140kg. But unlike most all-plastic chairs, the polypropylene is 100% recycled plastic waste.
100% recycled plastic - just like new.
Eden's Zero chair and stool are made in Italy at one of our key plastic component suppliers, and like most manufacturers they are always seeking to be responsible with their inhouse waste and thoughtful of the environment.
Zero's clever mix of post-industrial and post-consumer plastic allows an all-recycled just-like-new plastic chair.
Zero is made of about 50% post-industrial plastic waste - in other words, ends and rejects from production, and 50% post-consumer plastic waste – waste from other items such as packaging, textiles and toys. The materials are monitored for quality and consistency and then reinforced with glass fibre for strength, and the result is a upcycled product structurally identical to virgin plastic. Just like new, but preused.
We've made many visits to the supplier in a picturesque village at the foothills of the mountains in Treviso. Their pristine factory is like a little eco-system in itself. Internally produced factory plastic waste is collected and fed into a large chipping machine which spits out tons of small plastic pellets, which then go back into production to produce many types of furniture components, including Zero chairs. They breathe easy in the north Italian mountain air, and breathe easy knowing they're not harming the nature that surrounds them.
Zero. Zero new material. Zero bad conscience. What's not to like?
